The town of Montrose is an ancient Royal Burgh steeped in history & tradition. Situated on the north-east rail link between Dundee & Aberdeen at the mouth of the river South Esk.
A prominent landmark from miles away, The towns Auld Kirk Steeple towers above the High Street, where the farmers market is held on the first Saturday of each month. The towns High Street offers a varied array of shops including many big names such as Woolworths, Tesco, Boots etc
Montrose has a spectacular Blue Flag beach, with walks through to St Cyrus Nature Reserve. The local museum, one of the oldest in Scotland, has many exhibits covering local history. The local Air museum charts the towns’ aerial contribution to the world wars.
For the healthy amongst you there is also a sports centre and swimming pool within the town also two golf courses, one of which is the 5th oldest in the world.
The County of Angus has numerous coastal and countryside walks. There are 5 Angus Glens to explore, with plenty of sporting persuits including fishing, shooting, golf and sailing
